Yes. You are allowed to drive a car in Mauritius with your regular domestic license for a maximum period of one month. If you need a driving license for more than 4 weeks, you can contact the Traffic Branch to request an extension or apply for a local driving license.

To drive a car in Mauritius, an international driving license is recommended but not mandatory.

Road signs in Mauritius use international standards. However, as you can imagine, the can be slight differences. It is a good idea to take a look at the road signs used in Mauritius and if you have any doubt, you can always contact us.

Yes, absolutely free to use. The only road toll on the island is at the SSR International Airport where you have to pay for parking for around 1 euro per hour.

Mauritius has a modern road network of around 2,500 kilometres. Most of the roads are in good shape although we recommend a little more attention to inner roads in towns and villages.

As per local regulations, a driving license can be obtained at the age of 18. However, like most car rental companies in Mauritius, EasyCab requires a minimum driver age of 21 years.
